Artists to be announced
13th Berlin Biennale, Germany
14 June – 14 September 2025
The Berlin Biennale was founded in 1996 as a platform for artistic exploration of current social, political and cultural themes. Curator and writer Zasha Colah has been invited to assemble its 13th edition, and her concept will address a number of issues; the exploitation of nature and indigenous people by oppressive regimes; the power of laughter and humour in the face of violence and societal injustice; and new modes of expression that can be used when traditional means of communication are challenged.
Zasha Colah (born 1982) is an Indian curator and writer based in Turin. She is a co-founder of the Clark House Initiative Mumbai, a collaborative of artists and curators concerned with ideas of freedom. Currently, she is co-artistic director at Ar/Ge Kunst, Bolzano, and lecturer in the Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies Department, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan.
