The 3rd edition of Timișoara Art Encounters took place from September to October 2019. In cooperation with Phileas, the curators commissioned the artist duo Renate Lorenz & Pauline Boudry to create a new work for the exhibition. The Biennial’s mission was to engage the public in a meaningful dialogue, creating a platform for artistic exchange between the Romanian and international art scenes, with a specific focus on the region and its neighbouring countries. The biennial has since become one of the most relevant contemporary art projects of its kind in Central Europe.
