Blanca de la Torre is an acclaimed curator and art historian who explores the confluence of visual arts, cultural ecology, and sustainable creative practices. With a substantial body of work comprising over a hundred specialized publications and active participation in global conferences and symposiums, she occupies a prominent position in the curatorial landscape.

Currently, she leads as Head Curator of the Helsinki Biennial 2025 alongside Kati Kivinen. Previously, she directed the 15th International Cuenca Biennial in Ecuador and co-directed transformative projects like the Overview Effect Project at MoCAB in Belgrade and Con los pies en la T(t)ierra at CAAM in Gran Canaria. Notably, sustainability guidelines are a consistent feature across her endeavors, aiming to minimize ecological footprints.

Formerly, she served as Chief Curator at ARTIUM, the Museum-Center for Contemporary Art of the Basque Country (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain), from 2009 to 2014. Her influence extends internationally, with curated exhibitions held in esteemed venues from the Salzburger Kunstverein in Austria to the National Gallery in Delhi, India, all underscored by a commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
