Anna-Sophie Berger was invited to have a solo exhibition at Cell Project Space, London, in the Spring of 2019. The exhibition was similar in format to a retrospective, proposing to recover uncomplete or under-represented work by the Austrian artist. Phileas co-produced the exhibition, which was the first solo presentation for Berger in the United Kingdom.
Cell Project Space is an artist-run space, able to function at the level of an institution to promote emerging artists while also acting independently of commercial constraints. Cell has a reputation for launching grassroots artistic talent that later lead to institutional success. Anna-Sophie Berger’s was the first solo exhibition by an Austrian artist in the space.
