In April 2022, La Biennale di Venezia opened the 59th International Art Exhibition, titled The Milk of Dreams and curated by Cecilia Alemani. For our third consecutive collaboration with the biennial, Phileas supported the participation of the late Austrian artist Birgit Jürgenssen in the main exhibition.
Jürgensen (1949-2003), was a prolific photographer, painter, sculptor and graphic artist, and was considered among the most imaginative and vocal representatives of the feminist avant-garde. Her work has been widely exhibited at international institutions both during her lifetime and following her death.
In recent years, Phileas has supported the participations of Franz West and Søren Engsted (2015), and Ulrike Müller (2019), in the main exhibition of the International Art Exhibition.
