Kiki Kogelnik

59th Biennale di Venezia, Italy
20 April – 27 November 2022

In April 2022, La Biennale di Venezia opened the 59th International Art Exhibition, titled 'The Milk of Dreams' and curated by Cecilia Alemani. For our third consecutive collaboration with the biennial, Phileas supported the participation of the late Austrian artist Kiki Kogelnik in the main exhibition.

Kiki Kogelnik (1935-1997) was a painter, sculptor and printmaker. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, she settled in New York in 1961 where she worked alongside artists related to Pop Art, including Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein and Claes Oldenburg. Her work has been widely exhibited at international institutions both during her lifetime and following her death.

In recent years, Phileas has supported the participations of Franz West and Soren Engsted (2015), and Ulrike Müller (2019), in the main exhibition of the International Art Exhibition.
