Julien Fronsacq

Julien Fronsacq is Chief Curator and Deputy Director at MAMCO in Geneva. Prior to this, he was a curator at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, where he worked from 2008 to 2017. Fronsacq curated several theme exhibitions, including, among others Narrative Art at MAMCO, and retrospectives of artists such as Rosemarie Castoro, Jo Baer, François Ristori. He holds a Master in History of Art and Museology from Ecole du Louvre and in History of Art from Sorbonne University. He served as assistant teacher at the Ecole du Louvre from 1999 to 2001 and as teacher at ECAL/Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne from 2001 to 2015. Fronsacq established two research projects - "Atrocity Exhibition Archive Paradoxe" and "Vertiginous Parallels" – dedicated to JG Ballard and Charles-Blanc Gatti. Two books have been published on this occasion. He has been co-director of the independent art spaces Glassbox (Paris) from 1999 to 2003 and Forde (Geneva) from 2004 to 2006.
Julien Fronsacq was invited for a curatorial research trip in 2015 when he was a curator at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
