Mira Lapidot

Chief Curator of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art

Mira Lapidot is Chief Curator of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, a position which she has held since March 2021. In this capacity, she is responsible for the museum’s exhibition programme. Lapidot holds a master’s degree in History of Art and a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences and History of Art from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She arrived at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art after 22 years at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, where she was Chief Curator from 2012 to 2020. During her time there, Lapidot directed eleven curatorial departments of the Fine Arts Wing. Under her guardianship, the museum vastly expanded and enriched its collections. Some of the exhibitions that Lapidot has (co-)curated are: Ai Weiwei: Maybe, Maybe Not (2017); Christian Boltanski: Lifetime (2018); Julian Rosefeldt: Manifesto, tour-de-force film installation (2019); Urs Fischer: PLAY (2022); and Erwin Wurm: Away at Home (2023).
