Sebastian Cichoki is chief curator at the Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw. Past curated exhibitions include the Polish pavilions at the 52nd and 54th Venice Biennales, with Monika Sosnowska (1:1) and Yael Bartana (... and Europe will Be Stunned) respectively, the latter project co-curated with Galit Eilat, Making Use. Cichocki is a curator of The Bródno Sculpture Park, a long-term public art programme initiated in 2009 with the artist Paweł Althamer. He has curated exhibitions in the form of a novella, radio drama, opera libretto, garden, anti-production residency programme, and performance lectures.
Cichoki took part in the first project of AAC | Austrian Association for Curators in 2024. AAC is a platform for curatorial professionals, discourse and methodology. The platform aims to improve working conditions for professionals in the field and provide information on curatorial structures in Austria, including practical resources, best practices, and funding opportunities. Cichoki spoke at the opening panel ‘Everyone Talks about the Weather,’ where the topic of discussion was sustainable exhibition making.
