Stéphane Aquin is Director at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, Canada. Prior to this, he was Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington DC, United States, where he worked from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, Aquin was Curator of Contemporary Art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal, Canada from 1998 to 2015. During this period, Aquin  organised more than 40 exhibitions of Canadian and international artists, and greatly contributed to the institution’s image of excellence. He also worked as art critic for Voir Magazine from 1992 to 1998.

Stéphane Aquin was invited for a curatorial research trip in 2017 when he was Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington DC.
