Julia Haller

In the autumn of 2018, Julia Haller presented a solo exhibition at Midway Contemporary Art in Minneapolis, USA, in cooperation with Phileas. For her first institutional exhibition in the United States, Haller developed a new commission over the course of the year 2018. An exhibition catalogue was co-produced by Phileas and published alongside the exhibition.

Founded by current Director John Rasmussen in 2001, Midway is a non-profit organisation functioning as a platform for experimentation and development of new work by emerging artists. Midway has presented the US institutional debuts of artists Omer Fast, Nick Mauss, Guyton\Walker, Matias Faldbakken, Hans-Christian Lotz, David Zink Yi, Tobias Kaspar, Michaela Meise and many others.

Julia Haller (b. 1978) lives and works in Vienna, where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. Past solo and two-person exhibitions include Meyer Kainer, Vienna; Heimo Zobernig & Julia Haller, Galerija Vartai, Vilnius and Secession, Vienna. Her work was included in group exhibitions in a number of international institutions including Salzburger Kunstverein; Museum Angerlehner, Wels; and Belvedere, Vienna.
