Guy Debord
Donation to the Austrian Film Museum, Vienna
In collaboration with Phileas, the Austrian Film Museum was able to acquire the entire body of cinematographic work of Guy Debord.
Debord is recognized as the founder of the Situationist movement, and acclaimed for his revolutionary and critical approach towards the arts and cultural practices in the second half of the 20th century. His cinematographic work, however, has been hardly accessible until the beginning of the 21st century. The Austrian Film Museum is the first institution in the world that has been able to acquire his films for its collections.
