For the final event in our supporting programme for the exhibition on Friedl Kubelka, we were delighted to host a conversation between Anja Manfredi, Philipp Fleischmann and Friedl Kubelka to introduce two schools, which were founded by Kubelka, to a wider audience.

Kubelka founded the School for Artistic Photography in 1990 as the first school in Austria dedicated to artistic photography. More than a decade later, in 2006, she founded the School for Independent Film to provide aspiring filmmakers with the necessary exchange with national and international avantgarde film artists. Today, the schools are run by artists Anja Manfredi and Philipp Fleischmann respectively. During this event, they discussed the schools, their teaching methods and their role within the art scene from at the time of their founding to the present day.
