Philipp Fleischmann

For the 16th Biennale de Lyon – which opened in September 2022 and was curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, recently appointed directors of Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin – Phileas co-produced a new film work by artist Philipp Fleischmann. This was the third consecutive collaboration between Phileas and the biennial, following the participations of Susanna Fritscher in 2017, and Thomas Feuerstein, Ashley Hans Scheirl and Jakob Lena Knebl in 2019.
Philipp Fleischmann (born 1985, Hollabrunn, Austria) works in and with the medium of film. His work has been shown at the 34th Bienal de São Paulo; the Secession, Vienna; the Berlin and Toronto Film Festivals; and La Bienal de la Imagen en Movimento, Buenos Aires. In 2021, Phileas supported Fleischmann’s participation at the 34th Bienal de São Paulo.
