Donation to mumok, Vienna
In 2018, Phileas co-produced new works by Anna-Sophie Berger for inclusion in her exhibition at S.M.A.K. Ghent, in the context of the Ars Viva prize, awarded yearly by the Association of Arts and Culture of the German Economy at the Federation of German Industries to young, promising artists. Following the exhibition, Phileas extended this collaboration to include the purchase of two sculptural works produced for Berger’s presentation and donate them to the collection of mumok, Vienna.
Anna-Sophie Berger was born in 1989 in Vienna, Austria. She has had solo exhibitions at Cell Project Space, London (produced in collaboration with Phileas); Bonner Kunstverein; mumok, Vienna and Kunsthaus Bregenz among others. Her work has been included in group exhibition at institutions such as the Austrian Cultural Forum, New York; Kunsthalle Wien; Luma Westbau, Zurich, as well as the 4th Ural Industrial Biennale, Ekaterinenburg and the 9th Berlin Biennale. In 2016, she was awarded the Kapsch Contemporary Art Prize by mumok, Vienna.
