Leander Schönweger
Donation to mumok, Vienna
In 2017, Phileas co-produced a new installation by artist Leander Schönweger for his participation in the 15th Istanbul Biennial, curated by artists Elmgreen & Dragset. Phileas extended its support to include the purchase of the installation, and a second work, to donate to the collection of mumok, Vienna. This was the sixth in a series of donations made by Phileas to mumok during the course of the year 2017.
Leander Schönweger lives and works in Vienna, and is a graduate of the city’s University of Applied Arts. Past exhibitions include Galerie Nathalie Halgand, Vienna; Fogo Island Gallery, Canada and Kunsthalle Wien. In 2014, he was awarded the Prize of the Kunsthalle Wien.
